Balderton Capital is a different kind of venture firm, based on teamwork, serving entrepreneurs and a dedication to building companies of lasting value. We function as a team, so that every partner is invested - financially and personally - in each other's success.

This unique approach gives our companies the benefit of having all of our experienced, well-connected partners working for them, not just one. Whether it's help in recruitment, facilitating corporate partnerships, or advice on strategic moves, each company can access the combined resources of the entire firm.

Our strategy is to be the first investor in companies that create new markets with significant growth potential. We take a labour-intensive, service-oriented approach in markets where we have direct experience. These include enterprise software and services, communications and security, semiconductors, mobile, consumer and media and financial services.

We actively limit the number of companies we invest in. This gives us an unusually high partner-to-company ratio and guarantees our companies the attention they deserve. Our investments range from $100,000 to over $50 million. Typically we provide an initial amount, then expect to invest further over the life of a company. We invest for the long haul, not 'quick flips,' and look for entrepreneurs with a similar perspective.
